Imagine yourself as you enter into a hidden nook in one of the most elegant hotels in the city… A teeming underbelly full of hidden delights. You’ll be greeted by the sounds of jazz and the haze of something both mysterious and tantalizing.
We’re bringing a fantastic collective of artists, dancers, and musicians under our roof for one night only. The centerpiece of our experience is the musical powerhouse group Alice Underground. Made up of a core of musicians who have essentially grown up playing music together, they are bringing in some of the best jazz players that Los Angeles has to offer.
The group’s oeuvre varies between originals that feel like they were plucked from an American Songbook from a Tim Burton-themed time capsule, and jazz standards reimagined to showcase Alice Underground’s gift for conjuring longing and lasciviousness. The group counts as influences David Bowie, Ella Fitzgerald, Trent Reznor, and Billie Holiday.
The roster of musicians is incredible, and all are seasoned pros within their own right. They come together to play for a mutual love and appreciation for this era of music that has inspired so much.
